Photoshopped Images
In this image i can see two faces and four hands. At first i thought there were two people bit i looked at it carefully and noticed one of the figures looks like a shadow.
I can also see that the texture of the image looks like broken glass and there is a wide range of tones from light to dark.
The words i would use to describe this are: abstract, strange and old.
This image is a abstract image and is not made naturally because we do not quite know how it is made.
There are some new things in this photo that seem new to me such as the broken glass texture and the overlapping image that has been flipped.
I think the equipment used to make this image is a old fashioned camera that used film to see images.
I think this image was made by taking the strip of film and using a enlarger, enlarged the image and then flipped the image and doing the same thing so it looks like there are two people in the image when it is the same person but the picture got flipped and processed negatively.
This photo reminds me of looking through a window and seeing someone else looking at me with our hands up.
I would describe the lines and shapes in his picture as broken glass because the pattern on the right of the image looks like shattered glass that has been put on the image, the lines are also part of the crack in the glass.
There is a wide range of tone because that image is negative and positive so some part are dark and light.

Artist research: Ashkan Honarvar
This series constitutes Ashkan Honarvar’s search for an identity and the physical and psychological wounds inflicted on soldiers by war with the exception of Faces 3 and 5. Ashkan Honarvar used existing pictures of young First World War soldiers with facial mutilations.
I think that these images makes the faces more beautiful because it covers up the injuries with drawings and patterns.
